What is Pilates?
Pilates is a mind body exercise system that
targets the deep postural muscles of the body.
By understanding and applying the concept and
principles of Pilates to a series of exercises that
you perform you will start to develop sound
movement patterns.
By repeating Pilates exercises over a period of
time the muscles are re-educated and the body
bought into balance. The balance is carried over
to everyday activities, consciously at first then
subconsciously.
Over time you will learn to use your body
correctly and to move more efficiently – the
way nature intended. So, stresses and strains
are removed and poor postural habits
eliminated. In a nutshell, your body can
function more efficiently with less risk of injury.
